VH-YES: The Official 1992 Kinetic Sculpture Race Video

So here’s something You’ve Probably Never Heard of (unless you happen to live in Humboldt County, California, which is where I picked this up): Kinetic Sculpture Racing! From what I can tell, it’s sort of like a grown-up version of a soapbox derby, where, instead of building things that look like this:

They build things that look like THIS:

…and then race them for 42 miles along the coast of the Pacific Northwest. (It legit goes right by my house; like, yards away. …and I somehow missed it this year.)

If that sounds like something you have to see (spoiler alert, it is), then GOOD NEWS! I found a commercial VHS tape of the 1992 edition of the race and put it on YouTube. Here you go!!

(Kind of hilariously, it came packaged with a folded-up, photocopied newspaper clipping about how great the video is.)
